Description: The building faces east and is a two story concrete and glass structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Ellensburg. The south section is a rectangular building with glass windows on the south and north sides. The east and west walls are black colored slate. The one story center section has the main entrance on the east side. The north building is one story and has white colored panels on the east side.
History: The county was created in 1883 and Ellensburg was designated as the county seat. The first courthouse was a two story frame structure built by John Noah in 1887. An addition was constructed in 1904. The second and present courthouse was constructed in 1954 to 1956.
