Flagler

Flagler County is named for Henry Morrison Flagler, who was a railroad magnate and developer of east coast of Florida.

Location:  201 East Moody Avenue / South Church Street

Built:  1924 – 1926

Style:  Classical Revival

Architect:  Wilbur Talley of Talley, Buckley and Talley

Contractor:  O P Woodcock Company

 

Description: The building faces west and is a two story red colored brick and concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds. The north front has four large white colored columns rising from the first story to the top of the second story with a wide header above. There are white colored vertical panels between the windows. The roof line is flat. The building is now the First Baptist Church Academy.

 

County Justice Center – Bunnell

Built:  2005 – 2007

Style:  Modern

Architect:  Spillis Candela DMUM

Contractor:  Elkins Construction Inc.

 

Description: The building faces north and is a four story concrete and glass structure. The building is located on spacious landscaped grounds and is rectangular with a west wing which extends north. The north front has a projecting one story center section with entrance on the first story. The windows along the front are wide and vertical. The roof line is flat. The building is named as the Kim C Hammond Justice Center.

Contractor:  PPI Construction Management

 

Description: The building faces north and is a three story cream colored concrete structure. The building is located on spacious landscaped grounds. The north front has a large circular section with entrance on the first story, large interior atrium and wide green colored dome. The east and west ends of the building project from the main building. The green colored roof is hipped. The building is named as the Government Services Building. 

 

Note:  The cost of construction was $25,000,000. The engineer during construction was Cape Design Engineering Company.
