Location:  200 West 1st Street / Hooper Street

Built:  1897 – 1898

Style:  Romanesque

Description:  The building faces east and is a two story rusticated sandstone and concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Big Timber. The east front has an arched entrance in the center of the first story. There is an arched entrance on the south side. The building has a red colored roof. In the interior, the courtroom is located on the north side of the second story. The building houses the County District Court of the 6th Judicial District and County Justice Court.  An addition was built on the west and north sides in 1928 and the courthouse was remodeled deleting the tower. The architect was J G Link, Inc. of Billings

History:  The county was created in 1895 and Big Timber was selected as the county seat. The first and present courthouse was constructed in 1897 to 1898 at a cost of $9,590.

Description:  The building faces north and is a one story dark red colored brick and concrete structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Big Timber and is called the Courthouse Annex. The north front has a glass panel entrance. The roof line is flat.
