Description: The building faces east and is a two story rusticated sandstone structure. The building is located on landscaped grounds in the center of Big Timber. The east front has an arched entrance in the center of the first story. There is an arched entrance on the south side. The building has a red colored roof. An addition was built on the west and north sides in 1928 and the courthouse was remodeled deleting the tower. The architect was J G Link, Inc. of Billings
History: The county was created in 1895 and Big Timber was designated as the county seat. The first and present courthouse was constructed in 1897 to 1898 at a cost of $9,590.
