Okotoks is named for the Blackfoot First Nation word “ohkotok” meaning “rock”.

 

Location:  Okotoks is located in the southwest part of the Province.

Provincial Courthouse – Okotoks

 

Location:  98 McRae Street / Alberta Avenue

Built:  1979 – 1980

Style:  Modern

Architect:  Swinton Architects Ltd.  of Calgary

Contractor:  Bird Construction Company Limited.

 

Description:  The building faces south and is a one story buff coloured brick and concrete structure. The south front has a central entrance. The east side on the front is recessed. The roof line is flat.
